I wanna guess -- decades of Democrat government in Detroit & Michigan, and big unions?
That certainly fits for Detroit, but not all of Michigan. Michigan is not Detroit. Republicans control both state houses right now, and we have a Republican Governor. If we could lop off Detroit and Flint, Michigan would go red in every election.
