Question, what was the altitude and speed compared to Flight 93 in PA? Debris was scattered 8 miles away, so why is this jets debris field so localized?

It has not been a good year for the late Malaysian Airlines. Its reincarnation is not likely to fare any better.

There is a genetic illness among certain cultures that adopt a very casual attitude towards things technical, mechanical, or safety related.
A primitive unavoidable worship of magic perhaps?

There are only two possible explanations for this event. A mistake by the launchers of the missile due to ignorance (a monkey with a hand grenade,) or a specific person or persons on that flight targeted for elimination.

The former is the more likely.

And, after the obvious "Oh S**T!" moment, of course, everyone involved will deny everything about anything related to the disaster!

WASHINGTON — U.S. officials are investigating whether a Russian-made surface-to-air missile was used to take down a Malaysia Airlines jet near the Russian border, a U.S. defense official said.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Monday the Obama administration’s foreign policies in a number of areas have enhanced the world’s “tranquility” – a word that raised eyebrows as reporters pointed to situations in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Ukraine and the South China Sea.

The video of it hitting the ground, taken from a long ways off, does not indicate any kind of fire on board or smoke trail. It just hit the ground. One expert is saying it looks like it hit under some kind of control.

I’m beginning to wonder if this airline doesn’t have a bunch of suicide pilots flying for them.

From March 10, 2014...

Russian troops seize hospital, missile base in Ukraine’s Crimea

“Russian troops seized a military hospital and a missile base in the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea Monday, in the latest show of force in the battle for the country’s disputed future.

Pro-Russian militias joined Russian troops in taking over the hospital in Simferopol — the region’s main administrative city — herding staff members into a hallway to apparently “meet the institution’s new directors,” Reuters reported, citing Interfax. The report said 20 patients at the hospital are gravely ill.

Russian soldiers disarmed servicemen at a Ukrainian Army missile base overnight Friday. Ukrainian military spokesman Vladislav Seleznyov told a local TV station that some 200 troops approached the building and threatened to charge it if the Ukrainian soldiers refused to give up their weapons.

Crimea’s parliament has set a March 16 referendum on joining Russia, which has been denounced by Ukraine’s government.”

There were 154 Dutch passengers on board the plane, says an airport official, and 27 Australians, 23 Malaysians, 11 from Indonesia, six from the UK, four Germans, four Belgians, three from the Philippines and one Canadian. More nationalities have yet to be counted.

From the following discussion:

There's a Buk SAM in Snezhnoe. It was relocated to Snezhnoe after government airstrikes demolished parts of the town

I think you'll find that this is a rebel launch and not Ukrainian or Russian.

A trained (even poorly trained) operator would have all the overhead track management data and would seek permission to shoot - the permission would only come once the military was able to confirm that it wasn't commercial - and the element of doubt would immediately be in place as its a known air corridor

military trained operators would have noticed that object being tracked was civil (they overlay commercial flight tracks as part of track management and object separation)

that aircraft on a military system would NOT have been coming up as anything BUT commercial

untrained operators using big boys toys - and supplied by the russians

they have a hell of a lot of explaining to do - and more so as they don't have the gear to interrogate the black box, so the longer they hold onto it, the more suspicious everyone will be of what they did to supply Buks to the rebels

Oh, and for the ‘this plane shouldn’t have been there’ crowd, it was flying at something like 11,000 meters and was apparently one of hundreds of aircraft flying over Ukraine at the time. It is an extremely busy air route from Asia to Europe and clearly no one thought that civilian airliners at 11,000 meters were at risk. They should not have been.

01.03 Malaysia Airlines have moved to stress that the flight route taken by the plane that came down in Ukraine had been declared safe by the UN aviation arm, the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

They also said the International Air Transportation Association “had stated that the airspace the aircraft was traversing was not subject to restrictions”.

The airline said the plane was carrying a total 298 people, including three infants - 283 passengers and 15 crew. It earlier said it had been carrying 295 people which did not account for the three young children.
