Palestinian, pan-Arab media blast Egypt's failed cease-fire offer [Israel and Hamas]

Palestinian and other Arab commentators are blasting Egypt's cease-fire offer this week in the Israeli-Gazan fighting, saying it was a gift to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who accepted it, and a trap for Hamas, which rejected it.

Azmi Bishara, the fugitive former Knesset member who now heads the Arab Center for Research and Policy in Doha, Qatar, wrote in the pan-Arab alaraby.co.uk that the offer gave no relief to Gaza, nor freedom for the Hamas members recently returned to Israeli prisons. "This Egyptian declaration represents a stab in the back to the resistance and the people of Gaza. … [T]his declaration – which took on the guise of an 'initiative' – was meant to prevent the resistance from securing any political gains. Its result will be to hold the resistance responsible for not agreeing to a ceasefire."

Urayb ar-Rintawi wrote in the Jordanian ad-Dustour that the proposal's offer of eased living conditions for Gaza, but only after the cease-fire, was a ruse. "If Hamas accepts this latest ceasefire agreement, it would have suffered a double defeat. There is no meaning to any negotiations that will be held 48 hours after the ceasefire. If it rejects it, especially after the agreement has been accepted at the regional and international levels, it would have granted Netanyahu cover and legitimacy to pursue his war so to encircle and annihilate it and the Palestinian people. It would then be held solely responsible for the blood and destruction in the Gaza Strip. Hamas is now in a more difficult situation after the Egyptian initiative than it was before the initiative."

It's good that Israel and Egypt are working together to fight back against Hamas. It has the rest of the Islamic Terrorists around the world complaining about it ... LOL ...

Israel did accept the cease-fire but Turkey worked behind the scenes to get Hamas to reject it - and that's what they did.

I'm sorry, 'resistance' is launching rockets randomly at civilian targets? Someone must have skipped the old definition of 'terrorism' - or is this yet another dictionary entry re-written to take into account the liberal point of view?

Egyptians Hoping Israel Will Destroy Hamas
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3181177/posts

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi has thus far turned down appeals from Palestinians and other Arabs to work toward achieving a new ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Palestinian Authority [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Sisi and urged him to intervene to achieve an “immediate ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas. Abbas later admitted that his appeal to Sisi and (other Arab leaders) had fallen on deaf ears.

Sisi’s decision not to intervene in the current crisis did not come as a surprise. In fact, Sisi and many Egyptians seem to be delighted that Hamas is being badly hurt.

Some Egyptians are even openly expressing hope that Israel will completely destroy Hamas, which they regard as the “armed branch of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization.”

Sisi’s Egypt has not forgiven Hamas for its alliance with Muslim Brotherhood and its involvement in terrorist attacks against Egyptian civilians and soldiers over the past year.

The Egyptians today understand that Hamas and other radical Islamist groups pose a serious threat to their national security. That is why the Egyptian authorities have, over the past year, been taking tough security measures not only against Hamas, but also the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

I stay away from anything “Herbert Armstrong” and/or offshoots from it. I won’t be following this guy either, as he derives from that cult line!
