The American military is facing a serious personnel issue: More than two-thirds of today's youth are too uneducated, have behavior issues, and are not physically fit enough for service.
"We're trying to make decision makers see this is a national-security matter — and they need to prioritize it," retired Maj. Gen. Allen Youngman told The Wall Street Journal.

You are correct, although in the military they were called “McNamara’s 100,000”. Every one of them came in as undesignated strikers, ie, E-1 with no training beyond boot camp. They were used to wash airplanes, sweep decks, and they were expected to work hard. If they wanted to advanvce they had to “strike” for a particular job. Most didn’t. Large numbers of them ended up in trouble and discharged under other than honorable conditions. At the time I never dreamed they would end up running the country....
But they can rack up all kinds of points “Call For Duty” - they THINK they can fight!
There is a small minority of youth today that understands what it is to be a patriot and sacrifice - most are sons and daughters of military members...exactly what the libs wants - too stupid and too over weight to defend the liberties our Founding Fathers gave us through sacrifice and blood!

Given sufficient desire to serve, start a pre-Boot Camp to get them into shape.
For most 18 year olds, two months would be plenty. Assuming decent health, as opposed to fitness.
I used to go on backpacking trips up to two weeks. Astonishing the improvement in general fitness, even in such a short time.
I see the current govt. bringing in large numbers of South and Central Americans (Catholic) and the large number of Moslems (Islamic) in to the US to lay the foundation of social unrest in various parts of the nation, while those born here go about their lives staring at their latest iPhone or Droid - while the govt takes advantage and seizes control of a once free nation....this is not conspiracy, but fact!
Why else do the force movement into once pre-set areas of the nation...they will take the jobs from US Citizens or deplete the social welfare system like they are doing in England and France - and when the time is right (or someone whispers in their ear) they will launch forth setting afire everything in their way - and the hero of the day? Oh wait - it’s the US govt.
It’s a “Wag the Dog” moment and it is being set presently!

Things aren’t much better here in PA. A few weeks ago, I went to an amusement park that I hadn’t been to for the better part of a decade, and everywhere you looked, there were people covered with tattoos and piercings from top to bottom. Plenty of them were smokers as well. They toted around sickly kids who looked like they’d taken a backseat to Mom and Dad’s destructive habits.
Part of me wonders if this is the byproduct of the self-entitled, all-about-me mentality: that people are so desperate for attention that they’ll do anything - including anything to themselves - to get noticed or fit in.
I don’t know what causes people to disfigure themselves, but it certainly doesn’t make me think well of them.
By "prioritize" does that mean Michelle will lead our youth in mandatory nationwide PT?
Their ethnicity, even in uniform, will make them easy targets.
I think the misunderstanding is that we did not lose the wars overseas. We lost those wars in Washington DC.

I see (and agree); it is impossible to win wars without 100% commitment.
It takes considerable planning and it is very expensive to get into this country. Only smart, organized, and highly motivated people can pull that off.
However....I agree with those who are pushing for strict enforcement of existing immigration laws. And...We should give highest priority to those who are highly educated and made the effort to learn English.
This sounds like a simple supply-demand situation. If the supply is short, the employer will need improve its desirability to the pool of acceptable employees, who have other career options. Choices include higher pay, better benefits, better working conditions, and less b.s.
They might also try education efforts aimed at both students and adults. For the adults, it might be useful to point out that behavioral drugs can affect one’s prospects long-term. Some parents might be willing to forego a convenient diagnosis/prescription to preserve their child’s option for a military career.
Students could be advised about the tattoo rules. It’s not as if they can’t have them at all - there are just limits on number and placement. (Do you have to get your boyfriend’s name on your neck? You know you’ll break up anyway.) This is also useful information for parents, since children under 18 can’t get tattoos without parents’ approval.
I lived in L.A. for quite a while and I can attest to the fact that those crossing are not the best of the best of the best. I’m sticking with my 80 iq estimate and that is being kind

If they are too fat, can’t the military simply give some of them an extra month or three of boot camp?
As for behavior like ADD, stopping the Ritalin and Adderall and running a few miles a day ought to solve it for most of them.
Why don’t they just say Bolshecrat voters.
