Honestly, I can’t dredge up enough interest to educate myself on dispensationalism.
Regardless of what ever religious quirks Presbyterians have about Jews, there is no excusing the appalling ignorance and distorted reasoning that drives this idea that Israel is a barbaric state abusing the noble and innocent Palestinians (PS there is no such thing as a “Palestinian” - they are Arabs) and must be punished.
That Israel should be punished for the crime of defending itself against real barbarians is as perverted thinking as the liberal feminists who just recently categorized as “sick” the notion that women should learn to defend themselves against assaults and rape.
That’s just a fancy word for asserting that, and pointing out how, the good Lord has applied and is applying various different plans at various different times to how He relates to people on earth, while still summing all salvation up in Jesus Christ. It’s a relatively new theological theory, from the 18th century.
Anyhow it answers the nagging question: why the Jews are still very much here and even seeing God’s favor in spite of extreme trials. It is very popular among fundamentalists. I think it’s more accurate than some older competing Christian theories: it explains more while keeping the focus of glory upon the Lord.
