Not skeptical at all. This is SOP for BO & Co. This guy is a known terrorist. They grab him for publicity and then will release him at some later point in time.

AND why would a former special forces soldier have a light up laser on the scene without expecting air support? Unless there was a specific standing order that air support could be expected I doubt the first piece of equipment an experienced soldier would bring to a fire fight is a laser that would give away his position.
