Here are some beautiful pictures of the British royal family and many 90-year-od British veterans who traveled to France to commemorate D-Day. Queen Elizabeth herself had worked as a motor pool mechanic during the war, when she was still a princess. Lovely photos:

It’s difficult for me to imagine that all of those fresh-faced 20 year olds we see in old photos are now in their nineties. Thank God for what they did. Thank God.
