Get ready for more “white flight”, if they populate critical masses of ghetto folk in suburbia.
Sometimes I think “white flight” isn’t the correct term. It’s more like “middle class flight”. Many decent black people moved out of Detroit after the riots there, and out of other cities too.

They try to frame it in racial terms, but you’re right, it’s more of a class issue.
The left hates the idea of a middle class, because they love to indulge in their elitism. They love to have a huge difference between their lifestyle and that of the masses.
The existence of a middle class “stinks” to them, because there’s not that much difference in lifestyle (running water, sanitation, nutritious food, indoor climate control) between them and the middle class.

I lived near Detroit 25 yrs. ago. This was two decades after the riots. At the time the city was 83% black and everything north of 8 Mile was 94% white. The census maps looked like something out of South Africa.
It is only in the last 10 to 15 yrs. that the black middle class got the message and began to flee the city. There seemed to be some lingering solidarity behind the blowhard rhetoric of guys like Coleman Young.
