Several years ago, Columba Bush was at a Republican womens gathering in Jacksonville, Florida, looking like she wanted to bolt for the exit.
Tom Slade Jr. former chairman of the Florida GOP and a friend of Columba and her famous husband, former Gov. Jeb Bush recalled how she seemed utterly ill at ease.
Her dislike of being in the spotlight, and at events where people go to see whos there and to be seen, is well-known among those who know the Bush couple.
Columba Bush, who is 60, has endured it, Slade told the Washington Post, because the high-profile world of politics is one her husband revels in, like a fish in water.
He recalled her saying Jebby really does love politics, so I cant stand in his way.
But whether that also goes for being on-board with her husband, who is 61, running for president in 2016 is, for the moment, anyones guess.

I really don’t see much difference between Jeb and Hillary.
Other than being born Bush, I don’t see him as overly accomplished. We’ve had 12 years of Bush and I am afraid we’re soon to be looking at 12+ years of Clintons. These folks have done enough for themselves already. I wish they would all get out of the way.
You have to aware you are quoting one of the most inane Jesse Jackson comments ever

No kidding....rly? /s
It’s often quoted here, FRiend....mostly for it’s humor.
I am sure she votes Democrat these days.
An article here the other day reminded of a `99 incident where JEB’s wifey tried to sneak about $20,000.00 worth of goodies through customs after a shopping spree in gay Paree.
The Bushes can go pound sand.
If they run JEB or someone similar, the GOP-e might as well tell Zero to hand the WH keys to the dhimmi nominee, even if it has been `Two terms, WH changes hands’ for the last three presidents. (Four counting Reagan, with Carter and a the first Bush as aberrations.)
I want someone who loves his country, not someone who loves politics.
One Cruz/West/Palin are worth two Bushes.
The daughter who got caught smuggling drugs into rehab without much in the way of consequences. Seems like we used to get a story each year about how she had just successfully completed re-hab. I thought the son had only gotten caught for drunk and disorderly (and resisting arrest, but we all know the ruling class should get a pass on that).
If you're waiting for your wife to tell you, you're not a good candidate.
Stay out da' Bushes.
Did his wife ever suffer any consequences for her smuggling?
Give it a rest Jeb. You are NOT going to be the nominee.
Three times the duty owed if the goods that were found had been properly declared. (Total of $4,100). About as much as you can expect to happen to a member of the ruling class.
What if the United States had to stand up to China - and Bush's wife didn't want the stress? Maybe she's more into vacations and parties.
Bush's comment tells me he's not a serious man...
The same applies to Republicans. We don’t need some guy who’s biggest accomplishment was being born into the ‘right’ family.
Jawless Jeb, the mush-face amnesty whore, is not the correct answer.
What the hell is a columba?
Kindly recommend your husband to run, but also include Christie, Ryan, McCain, Romney, Graham and every other RINO squish.
We need them to divide the vote up.
Hope for her sake and ours that SHE is smarter than HE is.
