If you want to pay for it, fine. They’ll send you a bill for a few dozen billion dollars. Every damned year. And it never stops, because it never works. Everything used to justify it were the same reasons used to justify alcohol prohibition.
Your way has been tried since Richard Nixon started the War on Drugs. And it has never, ever worked. If your pattern recognition is that bad, you might as well start voting for Democrats.
