COOKSON, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms there has been a plane crash near Lake Tenkiller.
The Cherokee County Emergency Management director told News On 6 he believes the crash is about a mile north of Cookson Airport, a small, private airport east of state Highway 82.
A source tells News On 6 there were two people on board the small plane, and they have been transported by medical helicopter in unknown condition.
The crash took place Saturday morning after 11 a.m.

Not far from here! Probably down toward the Cookson school south of Kansas,OK.
That plane flew over my farm looking for a place to land just before it crashed. I guess he was looking for a place to crash land, but I dont have enough room in my pasture land one.
Some guy put a piper in a tree at Snake Creek some time ago didn’t he? Over loaded I heard.
I seem to remember something about that. And the guy who crashed the helicopter not too long back
