Sources tell the I-Team that Sheriff Gillespie has negotiated a potential agreement in which the BLM would halt its roundup of Bundy’s cattle and withdraw its employees from the Gold Butte area.
The BLM wants to proceed with the sale of the cattle already gathered during the roundup but is reportedly willing to share the revenue from the sale with Bundy.
Sheriff Gillespie has been negotiating with Bundy behind the scenes for months and may have reached a tentative agreement Friday night, though Bundy insisted the sheriff come to his ranch to finalize the arrangement face-to-face.
LAS VEGAS — The Bureau of Land Management has announced it will stop the roundup of cattle owned by rancher Cliven Bundy. The BLM says the animals have been illegally grazing on public lands for 20 years.
The BLM made the announcement Saturday morning, a week after rangers started gathering the animals off land near Gold Butte.
The agency says it is concerned about the safety of its employees and the public.
The BLM should be returning his cattle, not forcing him to sell it and “sharing” the rewards with him.
Where do I live again? This is not the america the old history books I have say I live.
I steal your stuff...and then SHARE my stolen gains ..with you?
the BLM is as “useless” as the stinking UN!
If true, this means that the feds have recognized the authority of the county sheriff. In a sense, they gave up power.
We shall see.
If only every sheriff in the nation was like this guy.
