There’s a lot of reports the head remains conscious after. It was some interesting reading actually. Of course once the brain no longer gets oxygen it shuts down, but there’s some time before that happens.

The guillotine will make a come back though, at least if I’m understanding my bible correctly. Christians will put it to good use.

Doubtful. I’d imagine it would remain as conscious as a head that just got hit hard enough with a baseball bat to break the neck.

Cover the head with a plastic bag to reduce their oxygen intake just prior and they’ll die very quickly.
