Rick Perry: “I was troubled today by the tone of the president…”
Right Scoop ^ | Feb 24, 2014 at 9:47 PM

Rick Perry admitted at the RGA today that he was very troubled by Obama’s tone today addressing the National Governors Association:

I don’t mind telling you I was a bit troubled today by the tone of the president. …For the president of the United States to look Democrat and Republican governors in the eye and to say ‘I do not trust you to make decisions in your state about issues of education, about transportation infrastructure…’ – that is really troubling.

Perry went on to say that Obama was going to hollow out the National Guard and warned the state governors not to push back against it or they would hear from him:

Democrat Governors are very concerned, I will suggest to you, about what they heard today about the Guard. I left the United States Air Force in the mid ‘70s, in February of 1977, as our country was going through a similar period of time of reducing the force. But those men and women who had extraordinary expertise in combat were going into the Guard and into the Reserves.

I hope we’re not about to make a tragic mistake in this country by hollowing out our Guard in our states in some political statement of ‘you’re all going to feel the pain’. Because that’s certainly what I heard from the president of the United States today.

As a matter of fact [Obama] he said in that meeting “if I hear any of you pushing back, making statements about Washington spends too much money, you’ll hear from me.”

If I’m a Democrat governor, if I’m a Republican governor, I’m highly offended by that.

Yes it is our duty to defend the people of this country. But I will suggest that making a political statement about the Guard is not in the best long-term interest of this country and it’s certainly not in the best long-term interest of those men and women who have committed and often times sacrificed greatly for this country.

Now with that possibility, why would Zippo want to cut the National Guard and the states ability to deal with massive civil unrest?

Because he doesn’t want states to be able to defend themselves from his regime.

My fellow Governors. I am highly offended by this President's statement and I call on you to reject this gross infringement of state's rights ... in the strongest possible terms.

As for me and Texas .... well, let's just say he'll hollow out our National Guard over our dead bodies.

Don't worry, he'll be ramping up his Civilian National Security Forces as he decimates the Guard.

Q. IS THERE A CHANCE THAT I MAY HAVE TO SERVE WITH ACTIVE COMBAT FORCES?

No. The Texas State Guard is governed by Title 32 of the United States Code as a State Defense Force only. As such, the Governor is our Commander in Chief and we work solely at his direction.

The Army National Guard may be activated to serve with the U.S. Army and the Air National Guard may be activated to serve with the U.S. Air Force, but the Texas State Guard would never be activated to serve with federal military forces.

Where are ALL of the Governors standing up for this nation?

re: “I love my Governor. I know there are a lot of people, even FR’ers, who don’t care for him, but he has the best for Texas in his heart, he’s a Christian, and he’s conservative. Texas has done well with his leadership.”

Totally agree, and I’m a Nevadan. Look, I doubt if there are any two conservatives on this sight who agree completely about anything. Whenever anyone, Republican, conservative, whatever, begins to lead, many start taking potshots at them because “they are not REALLY a true conservative”. I understand rejecting RINOs, but if we Americans who still love the country don’t start uniting against Obama and the Democrat/Socialist/Communist party, the only thing we will have left to unite on is where we stand against the firing squad wall.

As Ben Franklin once said, if we don’t hang together, we will most certainly hang separately.

Hollow out the National Guard and the next Katrina will go REALLY WELL.

Then again, they’ll probably just blame Bush again.

He’s acting like a dictator now. Let’s pray he doesn’t create a false flag before 2016. I’m very concerned about how he could set up conservatives at the American Spring March. Just like hitler, he could place his people in the crowd and have them start trouble. I think we need to get our house in order soon.

Wasn’t there another state that just recently established a state militia/guard which couldn’t be put under the control of the president?

We need to be very vocal about the tenth amendment, which should be a point of agreement between liberals and conservatives, at least at the state level.

Also, unlike what happens in other countries, when things go bad here it will not be a mad max situation. If the federal government collapses there is no reason the states can't continue to function. Obama seems to be considering the states to be rivals and is moving against their power. Education is not in the federal constitution, but it is in all of the state constitutions.

Obama has until November to front load the remaining illegal stuff he plans.

Seems to me our house is in order. Besides nothing can stop them if they decide to provoke an incident - they have hundreds of billions worth of taxpayer provided resources and thousands of drooling toads in the MSM to work their will.

BTW the public servants over at the NSA watch this site watching for anything that can be construed as a threat.
