Rick Perry: “I was troubled today by the tone of the president…”
Right Scoop ^ | Feb 24, 2014 at 9:47 PM

Rick Perry admitted at the RGA today that he was very troubled by Obama’s tone today addressing the National Governors Association:

I don’t mind telling you I was a bit troubled today by the tone of the president. …For the president of the United States to look Democrat and Republican governors in the eye and to say ‘I do not trust you to make decisions in your state about issues of education, about transportation infrastructure…’ – that is really troubling.

Perry went on to say that Obama was going to hollow out the National Guard and warned the state governors not to push back against it or they would hear from him:

Democrat Governors are very concerned, I will suggest to you, about what they heard today about the Guard. I left the United States Air Force in the mid ‘70s, in February of 1977, as our country was going through a similar period of time of reducing the force. But those men and women who had extraordinary expertise in combat were going into the Guard and into the Reserves.

I hope we’re not about to make a tragic mistake in this country by hollowing out our Guard in our states in some political statement of ‘you’re all going to feel the pain’. Because that’s certainly what I heard from the president of the United States today.

As a matter of fact [Obama] he said in that meeting “if I hear any of you pushing back, making statements about Washington spends too much money, you’ll hear from me.”

If I’m a Democrat governor, if I’m a Republican governor, I’m highly offended by that.

Yes it is our duty to defend the people of this country. But I will suggest that making a political statement about the Guard is not in the best long-term interest of this country and it’s certainly not in the best long-term interest of those men and women who have committed and often times sacrificed greatly for this country.

Well I certainly hope he spends all his time on the phone calling all the governors. The SOB.

Texas has done well the last decade under his watch. He is to be commended for standing up for state’s rights. IMO

Holder telling States AGs to ignore enforcing state marriage laws and yesterday Fox reported that HHS Sec has authorized a cut in reimbursing Home Health Aid businesses that will cost almost a half a million jobs and will flood hospitals and nursing homes.

Democrats have to be held 100% accountable for all of this. I see it's now possible for a scenario of very bad things happening, including a Tsunami election this November where the democrats will send a delegation to the WH telling Barkey it's over, resign or get removed.

Wow. Excellent comment. Following this meeting, Bobby Jindal expressed his disdain for Barry not approving the XL Keystone pipeline and was chastised by the media and some governors for resisting the King. We are finished as a nation.

When the gubmint takes over health care then guarantees compliance by Governors on all matters in exchange for health care funds, we are finished as a nation.

Ukraine.

0bama’s tactics have generally run like this.

Push in one area, get push back and pause. Push in another area, and begin “compromise” on the first. Always advancing.

Repeat.

Gardasil and the Trans-Texas highway? Seriously? I would be overjoyed if Rick Perry was president instead of Obama. I didn’t think Governor Perry was the best candidate at the time, but geesh, he’s no Mitt Romney (that’s meant as a sincere compliment...to Governor Perry).

Dont trust Obama. In case of civil unrest, the Guard needs to be strong. Perry sounds like a coward.

The Texas State Guard is one of three components of the Texas Military Forces (TXMF), operating under the command of the Adjutant General of Texas and the Governor as Commander-in-Chief of all state military forces. The TXMF includes the Texas Army National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard.

The mission of the Texas State Guard (TXSG) is to provide mission-ready military forces to assist state and local authorities in times of state emergencies; to conduct homeland security and community service activities under the umbrella of Defense Support to Civil Authorities; and to augment the Texas Army National Guard and Texas Air National Guard as required.

Headquartered at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas, the TXSG functions as an organized state militia under the authority of Title 32 of the U.S. Code and Chapter 431 of the Texas Government Code.

Is the TXSG ‘DHS drones’ or patriots?

Are we waiting for obama to kill people before he is stopped? We have 4 dead in Bengazi, too many US seals killed under suspicious conditions. He’s breaking laws, ignoring ones he doesn’t want to obey and making illegal laws. WHO is going to be the patriot? I think he is looking for a fight.

And the leaders of the country have been pushing for a strong presidency so the can elect on person and do whatever they want. Time to do away with a strong president and dept of justice.

“if I hear any of you pushing back, making statements about Washington spends too much money, you’ll hear from me.”
I’m calling that a threat against a public official. There’s laws against that. Someone call his bluff, and let’s get the party started.

With Obamas new appointee to the DoJ Civil Rights Division going on a mission, a mission strangely reminiscent of Janet Reno’s mission to “root out and expose Racial Profiling”, we might just be finding ourselves with race riots in every city.

Now with that possibility, why would Zippo want to cut the National Guard and the states ability to deal with massive civil unrest?

Yea, this really has me stumped, it’s a real head scratcher.

So you bought the spin about Gardicil and the Corridor that has been there since Eisenhower built it. Oh please, why do conservatives continue to be led by liberal gossip?
