The fact that this is getting play in the MSM is chilling. They usually go with stories when they’re already stale, so if they’re making this recommendation now, you should’ve started 3-6 months ago.

Correct. If a publication like the WSJ is saying this, then the fertilizer and the ventilator are about to make contact very, very soon.

It would be FOOLISH to ignore firearms, as one of many key survival tools. Too bad for those residing in New Jack City, however.

Bug out to where?
I'm with Gabby Johnson -- "I wash born here, an I wash raished here, and dad gum it, I am gonna die here, an no sidewindin' bushwackin', hornswagglin' cracker croaker is gonna rouin me bishen cutter."

I, along with many other economists, agree with many of the concerns expressed in these dire warnings. The growing debt and deficit spending is a tax on those holding dollars. The devaluation in the U.S. dollar risks the dollar's status as the reserve currency of the world. Obamacare was the worst legislation in the past 75 years. Socialism is on the rise and the NSA really is abrogating vast portions of the Constitution. I don't disagree with their concerns, he wrote.Meanwhile all Ryan, Boehner, McConnell, Peter King, Karl Rove and the rest of them can do is is criticize the Tea Party, Ted Cruz and the Pope.

That is what I have been predicting, that down the road there will be a revolt.

Yeah, bug out to where? It’s not like all will be well in a few days.

We're stuck in the city. Can't sell the house for what we owe yet, so until we can, we bought property in the country.
Maybe we'll be able to get there, and maybe we won't, but at least it's there and stocked so we don't need to haul a bunch of stuff.
We're white sprinkles in a chocolate city, it won't take much for us to realize that it's time to say goodbye. We believe the cities are where the worst of the problems will be concentrated - the best chance for survival is to get out.

We should be hun ting down those responsible for getting us in this mess.

My bug out bag has to include my .44 mag as we have some big roaches here in KY.

I agree. Bug out to where? Anyone intent on ‘bugging out’ will find themselves with their little bug-out bag of corn chips and extra underwear and a half of tank of gas in their Audi wondering ‘where to?’.
Best to live where you’re already ‘bugged out ‘.
To: chrisser
It would be crazy for me to leave. It sounds like it would be crazy for you to stay. It's going to be very individual.

Never let your gas tanks get below half a tank. Never! Have a bug out emergency pack already made up. Either in the car trunk or in the closet nearest the exit door. When it is time, don’t hesitate, don’t look back and maybe don’t even take time to lock the doors. If separated, have an agreed upon safe place of rendezvous.

We should be hun ting down those responsible for getting us in this mess.
And indeed we will, during and after CW-II.

(excerpt)
His memo is part of a series addressing the potential for a financial apocalypse. His view, however, is that the problems plaguing the country won't result in armageddon. There is the possibility of a precipitous decline, although a long and drawn out malaise is much more likely, said the Charlottesville, Va.-based president of Marotta Wealth Management. Marotta said that many clients fear an end-of-the-world scenario. He doesnt agree with that outcome, but does with much of what has people worried.
And I tend to agree with Marotta. There won't be a catastrophic melt down. Instead there will likely continue to be a long dollar destroying, wealth destroying tyrannical march towards full government control.

A little late, ammo is available but expensive and hard to find in bulk. Primers are available but limited and about 50% more expensive than 18 months ago. Bullets are on back order and pistol powder has just vanished from the market.
