NEWARK — Nearly a week after 30-year-old Hoboken lawyer Dustin Friedland was gunned down in a deadly carjacking while returning to his vehicle in an upper level parking deck of the Mall at Short Hills, police this morning arrested four men on charges of murder.
The four, were identified as Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, Kevin Roberts, 35, all of Newark, and Hanif Thompson, 29, of Irvington. All were being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $2 million bail each.

This pretty much means an informer and/or there were security cameras in the parking lot. It always amazed me how so many of these kinds of crimes were solvable until I stared watching the “The First 48” crime show, in which about 95% of he perps were caught due to informers or security cameras in the most unlikely of places. It seems these cameras are now pretty much everywhere.
Even more amazing, the morons would almost always confess once caught, though that’s not going to happen in this case because of all the publicity bringing a thousand ambulance-chasers to the rescue.

Unfortunately, New Jersey, like every other northeast liberal hellhole, does not have a death penalty. These feral animals will not receive the punishment that they deserve. And the family of the innocent man who was murdered trying to protect his wife will live with this for the rest of their lives.
New Jersey residents can thank Jon Corzine for banning the death penalty. Yes, the same Jon Corzine who stole billions and will never serve a day in prison for it.

Back in the '70s Bruce Dern co-starred with Walther Matthau in a film called "The Laughing Policeman." Dern play a detective, and before filming he went out with San Francisco cops on patrol duty and hung around other policemen to see what it was like. He said he was surprised to learn how many crimes were solved by tips from informers.

Has anyone noticed that when local news describes a wanted person they never say he’s black. Last night I actually heard a local news reader say the person is “light skinned”.
I can see someone trying to describe a black man without using the word black. “Uh, he has hair that’s really hard to comb? No? Mmmm, he has big lips and hasn’t used botox. They say he has 8 kids by 8 different women. Okay, how ‘bout this? His name is Tre’viance.”
“Okay, got it! He’s black,”
