I wouldn’t go so far as to say never. The Zimmerman case is an example of when it would. But this is just exploiting people’s anguish under the worst circumstances for ratings. It like when reporters stick a microphone in the face of people whose loved ones have just been killed.
There’s also the dispatcher guy saying he knows they’re there (the police?) but he’s not sending them in right now. What’s that about? Again, sorry, I can’t get the tapes to rewind and show minutes so they’re too difficult for me to be more certain what’s being said and when.
The AP stinks.
Have you tried scrolling over the timeline of the recording? That seems to work for me.
You got it. That was the most heartbreaking thing to me— that all they were in a position to do was take cover and wait, because of this damn gun-free mentality. It’s possible that none of the adults at that school would have opted to have a weapon, of course, but at least they would have had the option.
Actually, it can help put to rest conspiracy theories.
Ok, had to find another link that gave me the minute marks here:
Yes, it does sound like Jen is saying, “rumors it’s fake.”
The station I listened to, which must have been either Fox or ABC, said that the families didnt want them played so they weren’t.
It’s hard to know of course, until you’ve walked a mile in the other persons moccasins, but I think if were one of the family members, I wouldn’t care. 1. It might help dispel conspiracy theories, which have to be hurtful to them and 2. It might drive home the idiocy of these gun-free policies.
I heard that.
I think he is referring to the firemen/EMS — not the police.
Guys, when I look at Lanza’s photos on yahoo search, I find his facial changes through the years quite remarkable. Also....one “Adam” has blue eyes and the latter pic seem to be brown.
I know when my aunt suffered from Alzheimer’s...her facial structure changed dramatically. I just wonder if there is some correlation between facial changes and brain abnormalities?
Of course, if he was on some psychiatric meds, that may have caused his pupils to dilate....thus making them look darker.
Ok. Makes sense.
When seconds count, the police are minutes away. No thanks. I will take care of myself until authorities arrive.
Note that the police were on the scene within 4 minutes, but waited another 6 minutes before entering. In another words, they might have saved some kids if they acted quicker. The shooting was over by the time they entered the building.
Rick Thorne is on the phone answering questions for a couple minutes and at the end he still gets the feeling that 911 thinks he is making this all up until they hear the shots over the phone.
How could there be a rumor that it was fake — the shooting was only a few minutes old at that point. There was no time for any kind of rumor to get started.
Looks can be deceiving —
Page 3 first row 2nd picture from the left is the Adam Lanza that went into the school.
He looks pretty normal and mature at that point at the age of 20.
Hey, in small towns they’ll say bless you before you’ve sneezed. What do you think she’s saying?
And by 4 minutes there was a gaggle of police right outside the building and yet they stalled for 6 more minutes while shots are still being fired inside.
And he didn’t kill himself until the police began to close in on him and were within feet of him.
That’s what the sealing of these 911 tapes was intended to conceal but its out of the bag now.
Yes, I think they are in CYA mode. Notice how the journalist who wrote the story tries to address this question saying police were trying to figure out if there were multiple shooters. What difference does that make? I know there would be a lot confusion during such an incident, but all current active shooter response scenarios now say police are supposed to go towards the shooter immediately.
Here is the police dispatch to compare to the 911 calls:
