China’s Expansionist Designs BY COACH COLLINS, ON NOVEMBER 30TH, 2013 by Jim Emerson, staff writer

The Chinese Defense Ministry last week expanded its Air Defense Identification Zone in the East China Sea, unilaterally increasing its claim on the Japanese administered Senkakus Islands. (3) China is demanding that any aircraft in the Zone must identify themselves and obey air traffic control from Beijing. Any “threats” over the disputed area will be identified, monitored, or engaged according to Chinese policy. Past history has included verbal threats and close formation ramming by outdated fighters.

China and Japan both claim ownership of the islets known as the Senkakus while China claims Diaoyu. Located in the middle of the East China Sea seabed which is “potentially rich with oil, gas and other mineral deposits,” possession of the islands has been a matter of contention between the nations since they were purchased from a private owner last year by the government of Japan.

U.S. Response In a show of support for its Japanese ally, the Pentagon authorized the flight of Guam based B-52s over the disputed Senkakus Islets. The Strategic bombers were sent to challenge China’s “claim of exclusive control of the airspace over the chain of land patches in the East China Sea.” (2) China’s response was pure bluster claiming “The Japanese and U.S. hysteria is unnecessary and potentially dangerous, because it is based on a serious misreading, if not intentional distortion, of Chinese strategic purposes.” America’s debt holder is insisting that Washington had no business challenging its sovereignty in a regional misunderstanding of the long term designs of the People’s Republic.

Why? China is the second largest importer of oil and natural gas and has become the world’s largest energy consumer. (4) China’s demand for hydrocarbon fuels is expected to increase rapidly in the near future. China’s encroachment on the Japanese owned islands is not based on improving its defense posture. Rather it involves the overt theft of underwater resources for the purpose of securing oil for its ambitions to become a sole world power. By expanding the Sea Air Defense Identification Zone, China is using its military to grab oil and gas fields in East and South China seas. As they are closer to home, China hopes to minimize the effects of a possible blockade or embargo by the world community should the Chinese government decide to invade, hypothetically, Taiwan.

Naturally this will all be of little concern to America’s low information voters. They are just too busy loving their Chinese assembled iPhones.

There was an earlier similar thread on this.

Like I said there, they will be at war in the near future.

Made half their drinking water toxic.
Killed tons of girls and now there are lots of men with no women around getting cranky.
They need raw materials.
They are dirty players, so prepare for war including China at some point within years.

They’ve got a lot of people to feed, clothe, house and provide everything else for including work or else. If they really need to expand then Russia is the most likely place for them to go.

They’re Communists. They seek to rule the world. They must be stopped from doing so.

I believe China will move south rather than north—into the small states in the South China Seas—Vietnam and the southeast Asia area look good. They have a great deal of rancor between them. Last time Vietnam beat off a Chinese attack—they might not be so lucky in the future. Will Americans die to protect the Peoples Republic of Vietnam from China (who owns our dept and our political class?). There is Oil in Malaya and Indonesia —ripe for the taking—Singapore is a rich plum but no army or navy to defend her. I believe she built her new Navy with this goal in mind.

They are filthy, toxic, and desperate. The USA has nothing to lose in enforcing what many are calling an "outdated" peace treaty with Japan. Let Russia squeeze them for the oil rights, too. Just let the adults play this one out.

That is true nonsense. Japan and Taiwan are the forward edge of the US maritime security system in the Westpac. The Chicoms are and increasingly will be what Imperial Japan was in the 1930’s, expansionist, xenophobic, and militaristic, intent upon controlling the ‘East Asia Oceanic Resources Zone’ and expelling the US from the Asian littoral. Japanese naval forces are large (2nd or 3rd largest navy in the world depending on how the tonnage is counted, and extremely competent and professional. They used the GWOT as as opportunity to do long duration deployments in the Indian Ocean where they developed the capacity to operate far from home waters for long periods of time. Neutralizing japan or detaching the the US and Japanese militaries would only serve the interest of the emerging hegemon of Peking.
