I totally agree. The GOP just don’t understand how to message worth a damn even when their opponent has a rhetorical target on their back. I think in the future if you can’t talk yourself out of a paper bag then you shouldn’t be considered for a leadership role. I miss Gingrich and Tom Delay they could really take advantage of a microphone.

Totally agree...As usual Sowell nails this and it simply boils down to getting the message out that’s understandable to common people. Boehner and many other Republicans should be taking lessons from Sowell.

In general you are correct. But please exclude Ted Cruz from that generalization. He nailed it on Sunday with Candy WhatsHerName.

Conservative message: stuff you have to work for but we have plenty.

It is our message they reject, not the methodology.

Funny, but that’s exactly who came to my mind as soon as I read the article. The Republican Party would do well to hire Newt at a communications consultant and/or spokesman.
