Are you serious? You might start with this thread, which contains by no means the most egregious examples, say at posts #3 and #4. FR is by no means unique -- and the takeaway is that when you survey Latinos, the #1 reason they vote Democrat -- way above immigration and any other issue -- is that they think Republicans hate Latinos.
Oppose illegal immigration? Fine. I do too -- just don't hate on a huge group of people purely on the basis of their ethnicity. I shouldn't have to point out that millions of whom are taxpaying, law abiding and, yes, conservative US citizens. There are tons of Asian and Eastern European illegal immigrants in this country as well, and if the conservative movement tolerated anti-Polish bigotry half as much as it tolerates anti-Latino hatred you'd see Poles voting for Dems at the same ratios Latinos do. It's wrong, but more importantly it's politically insane.
There are also large groups of people- whites and Hispanic both, that think all Hispanics here came here illegally. Ignoring the History that many are descendants of Hispanics that were here before this was the United States, and many others that have legally immigrated. The other day a person with a Hispanic surname was posting on facebook that they were against any plan that rewarded illegals for breaking the law. Several other Hispanics tried to slam the person by saying since they were Hispanic at some point their family was also illegal- which of course may not be true.
So many myths out there- Republicans hate Hispanics, all Hispanics are illegals, there is no way for Hispanics to legally come here to work or live or become citizens. All of which shows how effective the supporters of illegals/Democrats have been at changing the language and getting the myths out in common belief.
