I'm well aware of the numbers -- and if Republicans keep alienating Latinos by being racist jerks, in a few years Latinos will be as Democratic as blacks. The sad thing is that there's no reason for this -- Latinos are conservative on a great many issues. And I'm not arguing that conservatives need to embrace amnesty or drop any of our core beliefs. But we do need to drop the racism, because that's whats alienating people who would otherwise agree with us. Just look at this thread or countless others and you will see plenty of racism targeted at Latinos.
No Latino is going to say "hey I agree with these guys on the sanctity of life and low taxes, so who cares if they hate me." That's not how people vote.
