“Daddy’s Home” - Shep & Limelights
I used to pass the time in Algebra by “Love Potion No. 9” (The Searchers version) . . .Exactly two minutes long so I knew how many times to sing it before the bell thankfully rang
Sir Christopher Wren designed and built more than 50 church buildings in London during the late 1600s. His design style had two prominent featuresthe first of which was sturdy, tall steeples. The second, however, was more profound. Wren was convinced that all of the windows in his churches must use clear glass as opposed to the stained glass so popular in churches of that era. In part, his reason for the clear glass is found in words attributed to him: Gods greatest gift to man is light. Allowing light to bathe people as they worshiped was, to Wren, a celebration of that gift.
In the Genesis account, on the first day of creation God made light (1:3). The light God created is even more than just a means by which to see. Its a picture of what Christ brought when He entered this darkened world. In John 8:12, our Lord said, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. To the follower of Christ, light is one of the great reminders of the character of our Savior and the quality of the life He has given us through His sacrifice on the cross.
Wren was right. Gods greatest gift to man is lightJesus Christ, the Light of the world!

Here’s one I guarantee no one else will list: “You Got What It Takes” by (Marvelous) Marv Johnson.
“You don’t drive a big fine car...”

“Sweet Home Alabama”
The best version I have heard is oddly done by the Leningrad Cowboys with the Russian Army Choir.
My g’pa says “Eighteen Again”
Our oldest son, 25 years, was married this past weekend to the most wonderful young lady... Matthew’s and my “mother-son dance” song was:

Today, this is my favorite!! :-)
Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers is my ALL TIME favorite!
how much time you got?
Way to many to mention, and this isn’t that high on my list but I just found it last night on Youtube...the original version of “No Time” by The Guess Who:

This is not the version you’ve heard for years. It was issued on a Canadian LP called “Canned Wheat” (love that!) and includes new riffs and a more psychedelic sound.
Great band, great song - and something you haven’t heard 5,000 times already...
Crystal Blue Persuasion (Tommy James)
What Does it Take? (Junior Walker and the All Stars)
Sloop John B (the Beach Boys)
For some reason, mine didn’t post. Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers is my all-time favorite, then Kokomo, by the Beach Boys.
I’ll contribute one more to your thread - a two-parter!
First, he’s the lovely and oh-so-talented Marilyn McCoo with the Fifth Dimension in 1969 doing a great song, “Wedding Bell Blues”:

What a beautiful lady, and two fantastic talents who can come along and perform just as well four decades later!
