West’s initial comments on the Zimmerman case were deceptively edited to present them in the worst possible light. His full statement was fully qualified as to his uncertainties regarding news reports. It reads quite differently from the edited version and was very reasonable. The only break West might get is that he prefaces his statement with a disclaimer: ...”if all that has been reported is accurate. ..” but my point is he and plenty of others jumped to conclusions BEFORE knowing. That is the outrage.
He made these statements when this was a new case -when the outrage was just getting warmed up. He added to it. I live a few miles from the courthouse where this trial took place. I read the paper and listened to local news and very shortly learned there was a great deal more to the story thanthe national media was telling . West had access to the same info I did
