Obama missed out on Arab Spring (CNN editorial!)
CNN ^ | July 4, 2013 | Frida Ghitis

The 2011 Arab uprisings presented the United States with a historic opportunity to take a clear stand on the side of freedom and democracy and strengthen its own standing in the process. Incredibly, the Obama administration has blundered and stumbled, with a response marked by timidity and caution.

But when the government went after that same civil society, arresting and then convicting 43 members of nongovernmental organizations -- including 16 Americans -- and sentencing them to prison terms on sham charges, the U.S. kept its voice low, to the dismay of its friends.

The Obama administration has been so timid, so eager to stay out of the fray, that a few weeks before the verdict against the pro-democracy activists, Secretary of State John Kerry passed up the opportunity to take a stand for the workers, and for democracy, by quietly waiving the human rights preconditions of U.S. aid to Egypt and thus allowing $1.3 billion in aid to go forward.

Oh really! Waiving the human rights rules so the Muslim Brotherhood could get our hand-out, but now, since 30 million Egyptians have run them out of office, Obama is considering pulling that aid. Yes, we can see whose side he is on, and it has nothing to do with “democracy.”

His administration people, code pink, etc. were over there instigating the Arab Spring turmoil to over throw regimes to install MB-dominated governments. Now that populist revolts (Tunisa is next) are protesting his MB proteges the media is in damage-control to protect the administration.

This is a CNN propaganda piece to distance the administration from its role in overthrowing Mubarek and its support of the (newly deposed) MB in Egypt.

the Obama administration has blundered and stumbled, with a response marked by timidity and caution.

What nonsense is this? The Obama Administration has acted with will, purpose and amazing consistency. Run Obama's actions and policies through this filter and see what you get:

Filter: PROMOTE RADICAL ISLAM AT ALL COSTS

What you get is what we see daily in the headlines both here and abroad. Fortunately the Egyptians have more backbone than Obama counted on and his pro-radical Islam policies have suffered a major setback. Is that due to a blunder, a stumble? Perhaps. Does it represent timidity and caution. Not a chance. Just foolishness, plain and simple.

Obama’s puppet masters instigated the “Arab Spring”. This is the fastest we have ever seen Obama react to any world event, and it it to come to the aid of the Muslim Brotherhood!

Let’s not forget, Morsi’s new constitution legalized slavery!

Down with Obama and his Muslim Brotherhood!

By the way, where is Mubarak???

Before the Arab Spring was the 2009 Persian Spring in Iran. Millions of Iranians rose up against a corrupt, tyrannical theocracy chanting: “Obama, Obama, you are either with them, or with us.” The people were protesting blatantly rigged elections that secured the mullahs’ power.

Obama said the U.S. “would not meddle” then went out a played a round of golf. Obama could have affected events in Iran without sending one troop or dropping one bomb.

His world popularity was such that he could have built a world coalition of nations to delegitimize the election results by refusing to recognize the newly elected government. From there they could have imposed a naval blockade and a covert operation to arm the dissidents.

CNN: Egyptians Blame Obama for Morsi Repression
Egyptians have been protesting by the millions against now ex-President Mohammed Morsi - as well as against current President Barack Obama

By David Lev
First Publish: 7/4/2013, 11:45 AM

Egyptians have been protesting by the millions against now ex-President Mohammed Morsi, but there have been other noticeable themes among protesters – specifically, the anti-American theme. While Morsi’s dictatorial ways and bumbling of the economy have been the central complaint of protesters, the image of U.S. President Barack H. Obama has been prominent on many protest signs.

Obama, it will be recalled, was a principal backer of the revolution against Hosni Mubarak, and enthusiastically endorsed the election of Morsi as the first ever democratically elected leader of Egypt. When Morsi was elected in June 2012, Obama called him to congratulate him on his victory. In a statement, the White House said that the U.S. “will continue to support Egypt’s transition to democracy and stand by the Egyptian people as they fulfill the promise of their revolution.” The statement also “emphasized [Obama’s] interest in working together with President-elect Morsi, on the basis of mutual respect, to advance the many shared interests between Egypt and the United States.”

It later became clear that the Egyptian people did not necessarily appreciate Obama’s expressions of support for Morsi. In September, an Egyptian mob stormed the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, at the same time the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya was attacked.

A mild criticism from an a$$-kissing media outlet.

Our fearless leader is NOT on our side. Listen for his comments on the coup in Egypt.

BTW, did our fearless leader take part in Independence Day celebrations?
