During Hurricane Alicia any years ago, the Red Cross was charging for food and blankets. No, they’ll never get a dime from me.

my dad was in the latter part of WWII, occupying Italy and he said the Red Cross would charge a nickle for donut and cup of hot coffee. said he would never give them another nickle as long as he lived.

Like my DAD said about the red cross charging for do-nuts during WW-II , found out myself 25-years later they were still doing the same,

Yep. My parents would tell about them charging for coffee in Michigan that just had a deadly tornado destroy most of a town. Think this was in the 50’s.

From what I have read on their website, seen on charity rating sites and from local news reports, Convoy of Hope out of Springfield MO is one of the better charities that about 90% is spent on helping and the rest is used for fundraising and admin costs.
