James Carville: This is all over in 30 days By: Kevin Robillard May 16, 2013 11:57 AM EDT

Democratic strategist James Carville had some good news for President Barack Obama amid three controversies: It will all be over in a month.

Carville, who helped guide former President Bill Clinton through crises, on Thursday described Benghazi and the Justice Department’s decision to subpoena the Associated Press’ phone records as non-stories to start with and he predicted the IRS scandal would fizzle out within a month.

“These guys are awfully frustrated right now,” Carville said, referring to the GOP. “They’re taking the anger out, and I understand that. I think the White House has just go to live with this for 30 days, get the truth out and you know, just roll with the punches here. They’re down to swinging pretty wildly here.”

The Ragin’ Cajun said Republicans were focused on the IRS scandal because many of their political positions are being undercut by long-term trends.

“That’s what they’re down to,” Carville said. “Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS. If there is, we should find out about it and fix it and if somebody did something wrong, they should be fired or brought to justice.”

No biggie, but this latest revelation makes a great deal of sense to me. I recall lots of people asking where was the TEA party and why weren't they making a difference. I think it was enough of a harassment, along with "Operation demoralize" of Axelrod's that made sure Bambi won. They didn't need a lot, and it worked. I heard a woman interviewed (a clip played by Rush) of a woman who had been active in the TEA party, who just gave up because of the harrasment, and that was more common that you might think.

It's hard to overcome lots of giveaways, the MSM not reporting, no actually lying about Benghazi, the economy, Fast and furious, etc. ad nauseum.

We didn't help ourselves, Romney made some bad decisions, the MSM was in full protect mode, but in the end it was the illegal crap, the demoralization coup of Axelrod, the giveaways, the voter fraud.

that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS.

James Carville, you're going to eat those words!!! Nothing, Benghazi was nothing? The president and everyone on down let those people die in Benghazi specifically for political gain to appear to be in charge and have terrorism under control and you call it NOTHING?!?$@#%@?!!!

You're nuts!!!!! Something amiss in the Cincinnati office? Tapping the phone lines of the AP was "...that little affair...." I guess. Good Lord, something is amiss in the ENTIRE government. The fact that God has not caused lightning to strike you on your bald noggin means something is definitely amiss.

Let's see if it's over in 30 days. How many days does it take to uncover, discuss and act on 100 criminal acts by the government? 30 days?

At the state or national level Dems are vulnerable. We need more GOP governor/state legislature combos, particularly at the next census. We need to tip the Senate and strengthen the house and in 2016 elect a conservative POTUS.

Absolutely. There are a half dozen GOP led committees and the info can be dribbed and drabbed out. It’s the voters perception of trust in the Democrats that must be destroyed. This is only a part of it, the rest is the reality of DemCare and the economy.

He had to get out from under the Oval Office desk and shed his knee pads to take time to say that.

I've been posting for quite a while now that conservatives have not been as intelligent as liberals, they have not the foresight of liberals, they are not as creative as liberals, they are not as organized as liberals, many conservatives accept the vice of narcotics, conservatives tend to think solely in economic terms while liberals realize that first comes political control then flow the funds; liberals are masters of emotionally based propaganda while conservatives try to be "rational."

Conservatives could gain control again but if the liberal paradigm is followed it would take years and we don't have time. Liberalism started the drive to control politics in the 1930's. When I was young most of my professors were conservative to moderate conservative but one could see leftist influence comin into the classes, especiall the Social Sciences.
