No, that’s true. A lot of people here hate Bush, but IMHO his big problem was not that he was liberal, but that he was too conciliatory. He didn’t have to be a dictator-in-the-making like Obama, but he never defended his opinion or approaches. And it did cost us a lot of lives and also set up the framework for Obama to claim that Muslims had nothing to do with us and that instead it was the fault of all of us knuckledragging conservatives out there.

I don’t think Bush wanted it work out this way, but he was easily intimidated by both the Dems and the GOP-e.

I agree with your assessment about Bush. Shows that a president has to be a fighter, a warrior personality. Courage, moral principles, and a real undesrtanding of the Constitution. All three must be there.
