Dems: GOP fails to show scandal in Benghazi deaths

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Politicians love few things better than a scandal to trip up their opponents, and Republicans hope last year's fatal attack on U.S. diplomats in Libya will do exactly that to Hillary Rodham Clinton and other Democrats.

History suggests it might be a tough lift. The issue is complex, the next presidential election is more than three years away, and a number of reports and officials have disputed criticisms of Clinton's role when she was secretary of state.

Still, Republicans and conservative talk hosts are hammering away at Clinton's and the Obama administration's handling of the 8-month-old tragedy. A daylong House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday starred three State Department officials invited by Republicans. Security was poorly handled in Benghazi, Libya, they said, and administration officials later tried to obscure what happened.

But the three men offered little that has not been aired in previous congressional hearings. Afterward, Republicans all but acknowledged they're still seeking a knockout punch.

It took the Washington Post and the New York Times and all the TV networks 10 months to get Nixon, but they did manage to get him. Unlike the Benghazi murders, no one died in the Watergate scandal. And Obama and Hillary lied to the nation on television in front of the four caskets when they arrived after they denied help to these brave Americans. It should not take long to bring charges of impeachment in this case. This should be a slam dunk.

I was sick to my stomach so many times watching the hearings yesterday... I could write a book on how hopeless I feel about the mess in which our country finds itself. To think that attack happened and we’ve done NOTHING about it, makes me the most sick. To me, these lies and cover up are nothing less than impeachable offenses, not to mention treasonable and criminal. And what makes me even more sick is that the Obama administration is going to walk free.

While that is important, I don’t think Benghazi would have happened had standing rules and protocol been followed.

And I sure as hell want to know who ordered what, who knew what and when did they know it. And WHY THE HELL DIDN”T WE DEFEND THEM?

I am also pissed that it seems the majority of our country is happy to live off the backs of the minority of us. And they see nothing wrong with that.

I shall offer a bit of History regarding your thought. When the Colonists went against Great Britain, the same was said, no way can they win. Sometimes God preforms miracles as in ever second and in every moment. Anything is possible. Was taught this at the old school and I still believe. Just saying.

OK, here's what you need to do to "prevent it from happening again.”:

1) Don't meddle with, or get rid of "our bitches" in the moslem world. The "evil dictators" are suppressing the terrorists. If they're not doing that, replace them.

2) Just because you're a moslem doesn't mean you can do any secret deals transferring arms to alkida terrorists, or Mexican drug cartel a-holes. They are our enemy.

3) Any of our embassies in a major hotspot like Libya should have heavy security, firepower and backup. If it comes under attack, response should be immediate and merciless.
