The unfortunate thing is it could’ve been someone else. I suspect it was him but the truth is it could’ve been some guy who worked on her computer or another boyfriend altogether who had access to her computer. Once something is digital unless you keep it on a usb drive in a safe deposit box its vulnerable.

Based on the article I suspect he isn't the culprit. How would her ex have access to her thesis that she developed years after their break up? Probably a stalking hacker.

Of course it bears repeating to not put this stuff out there to begin with, however, what this guy did after the fact needs to be stopped.
