Report: Cuomo won't run against Clinton in 2016

Despite widespread speculation he's been eying the job, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told associates he won't run for president if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton does, according to the New York Post.

Cuomo, New York's first-term Democratic governor and the son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo, would face a steep challenge in mounting a nomination bid against Clinton, who has a wide and readily accessible base of support, and who also has strong ties within New York political circles.

"The governor has told people in recent weeks that there's not a chance for him to run if Hillary gets in the race because she'll easily wrap up the Democratic nomination,'' a Cuomo administration insider told the Post. "He knows that and he accepts that, and so he won't even be thinking at all in those terms -- unless Hillary decides not to run, which seems unlikely."

Clinton has declined to make clear her political intentions going forward, and faces little pressure to make a decision anytime soon. But her advocates - including a super PAC aimed at backing her in a 2016 bid - are already ginning up support on her behalf.

So far, few appear poised to match her popularity: A slew of recent polls have shown Clinton topping Democrats and Republicans alike, including a recent University of New Hampshire poll showing the former secretary of state leading other top Democratic prospective candidates by an overwhelming margin, with Clinton at 61 percent and Vice President Joe Biden's trailing her with seven percent. Cuomo came in behind Biden.

The power mad tyrants line up.

And the won most likely to win is a psychotic bag lady.

The GOP has not a single person to run, and it wouldn’t matter if they did, because they do not believe in anything other than big government anyway.

America is dead.

Hillary will be 69 in November 2016 and her health problems are no doubt worse than they are letting on.

But the sheeple will never know of any problems. She'll be presented as an amazing picture of health.

The question I have is does the Dem party get anywhere near the same black turnout without a black candidate?

Once they're told to vote for the dem, they'll vote for the dem.

This was paved long ago when Kennedy defeated Keating for the US Senate from NY I believe. Seems NY is happy to be run like a Kingdom with heirs of princes and princesses. So much so, I would gladly send it back to the King, gift wrapped along with Mass.

She’s a hot mess now. Four years aren’t’ going to make her any younger, fitter or neater.

The dems can nominate Barney Frank and win by a comfortable margin. The country's changed that much. So if it's not Hillary...

What difference does it make?

The GOP will run someone. Someone who is anti-gun, anti-business, pro-Islamic, and neo-Marxist. Both parties have the exact same goal, but have slightly different names.

America is dead.

BEEN dead. This is the decomposition phase.

So is Hitlery the Anointed One? She won’t get a vote from us. I ‘ll vote for Jeb Bush before I cast a ballot for the murderess of Benghazi.

Yep, agreed, Laz.

My guess is it will be Jeb Bush, or some big, fat, stupid loud mouthed jerk like Christie, both of whom I will not ever vote for for any reason at all.

I would compare politicians to maggots feeding on America’s corpse, but maggots actually serve a useful purpose in nature. These politicians are parasitic organisms looking for the next host to infect and destroy.

Ditto, but folks like us are in the distinct minority in New America. The majority of this once-great country thinks she's just friggin' awesome.

Most will just give up and say our battle is over before it starts. It was that way when we originally fought for our Freedom and Liberty from King George... but if they get sworn testimony proving that obama and the hildebeast lied... and they already have the documents proving it... then hildebeast will find out WHY IT MATTERS!

Ditto for leeches. Comparing politicians to either maggots or leeches is an insult to maggots and leeches.

But the question is. "Will the massive turn out by blacks and latino's for Obama also turn out for Hillary, after all she is hardly a "down with the hood" black community organizer from Chicago, she's a wealthy, white southerner, who, as Bill Clinton once said, thinks minorities should be "bringing them their coffee". Not to mention she had the nerve to run against Barack in 2008..."

duckworth~:”... Cuomo is already folding at the mere mention of Clinton’s name. Who the eff are these Clintons? It’s got to be money. Got to be money.”

They’d both be fighting for the money ,.. from the same political machine.
Little Cuomo hasn’t the same political and financial contacts that Poppa has.

Can I make an observation?

Hillary was considered the inevitable Democrat nominee at this point in the 2008 election cycle. Obama was little known nationally at this point in that cycle.

Hillary had some of the highest negatives ever recorded for a major party presidential candidate during the 2008 primary campaign.

Yes, Hillary has a strong base of support, but she had that eight years ago. Could there be another candidate similar to Obama, who will rise up during the primary campaign and derail her again?

Since Hillary has already been an inevitable candidate and was defeated before, what makes people think that this time she is so inevitable????

Sadly, with the makeup of Amerika today, she is going to win. They hands stuck out for free stuff crowd will make sure of that. 48% want free stuff now. By 2016, it will be over 52% at least. Obama will keep the economy so low that many more will join the poor rolls. I am retired military. Obama has already started increasing our Co-pays and our insurance coverages by huge increases over the next 5 years. My annual retired pay raise does not even come within 20% of paying the amounts he is going to raise our out of pocket costs. By the end of the five years, I will have about 25 to 30% less in take home pay if he keeps this up, and he will. Because the stinking congress lets him do it. And we have no say so, and no way to stop him.

None of that will matter. What do matter are two overriding factors: 1) She has a "D" after her name; and 2) She's a Clinton.

Granted, she won't get the record 96% worship-level black support that Obama got, but at the end, it'll be a non-factor anyway. She'll have more than enough of other minorities, the women will turn out huge for her, as will cross-over moderate GOPers who somehow think she's a thoughtful, centrist stateswoman.

In addition, what Republican candidate is going to challenger her aggressively, knowing the "media" are salivating over re-launching their "War on Women" narrative. It plays right into their hands.

Spot on. In Nov. 2012, the turnout at the polls was D+6. It probably will be D+8 or higher in 2016. Democrat numbers aren’t dropping.
