The hierarchy of the Republican Party has published a 100 page new and improved game plan entitled the "Growth and Opportunity Project" ostensibly to win future elections and re-tool the party. While this effort is an improvement over similar exercises in recent years, it contains a number of major flaws indicative of the fact that the Party is still operating as if the national political landscape was the same as the 1980's and 90's with a recognition that demographics and news dissemination has changed.

The bulk of the conservative movement, and thus the base of the Republican Party, recognizes this reality. They have become increasingly alarmed at the fate awaiting the country if these radicals are not purged from the mainstream of American governance in the 2014 and 2016 election cycles. But when they look to the leadership of the Republican Party they see a nauseating deference to the party in power and the media -- in other words business as usual in Washington. Apparently the Republican Establishment believes it will eventually win when it is their turn if they just can find a way to bribe minorities, particularly Hispanics into voting for them.

Their underlying tactic was the epitome of simplicity. Using the backdrop of unprecedented prosperity, the left seized upon the concept of "fairness" and "equality" to promote their agenda. Every agenda item was cloaked in the mantle of fairness and equality and whoever was opposed to any proposition was labeled and demagogued as a bigoted tyrant who favored unfairness and inequality. Instead of writing more "white papers" the Republican Party hierarchy needs to abdicate and turn over the reins to those willing to fight for the future of the American people before it is too late.

If they wish to han the p[arty over to Homosexuals, Hispanics and Blacks, If they wish to keep and expand entitlements I will not vote for any of them.

Sadly I have to agree. Republicans did a lot of things that were not best for the country.

It won’t matter one bit how much the Republican Party panders to various pressure groups...they’re not going to get their votes. Because they’ll never be able to out-pander the Democrats who are past masters at demagoguing issues.
Don’t leave them until you have voted against them in the 2014 primaries. Actually, I expect very little from these upcoming primaries. If there were to be something significant, we would already know of challengers to Cornyn, Alexander, Graham, etc.

Yeah, I laugh at those words too. But there is a certain amount of truth to those statements. On many social issues, Blacks and Hispanics are conservatives. But when it comes to extracting money from other Americans to waste er use on privileged minorities, they're more like communists.
I've yet to hear a logical argument from any person who identifies him or herself as a spokesman for their ethnic group explaining how supporting the Democrat Party has helped them achieve anything worthwhile. It's all about taking from someone else and giving it to them on the basis that they (the minority group) are too helpless to do anything on their own. Which is balderdash. The Democrat Party is a gigantic weight around the legs of all Americans especially minority groups.
Enter the new faster-breeding non-European immigrants, already more than 25% of the population and soon to be more than half ... even if all immigration legal and illegal were to be stopped today.
Guess what, Jim. They ain't conservatives. They want the whole American Dream right now. If you have it, they have no qualms about taking it away. Sound like Republicans to you?
The two Party System cannot handle this. Stay tuned.

Yet BOTH PARTIES are silent, and keep on growing our now largest competitor.
Yeah, on a few social issues (like gay marriage) blacks and Hispanics may be conservative. But I think that’s overstated, and it’s also almost meaningless. Blacks voted for the marriage Amendment in NC last year, and then voted for Obama a few months later. And if Hispanics were as socially conservatives as dolts like Rove would have us believe, then why haven’t they injected even the slightest bit of social conservatism into the Democratic party? Why are pretty much all representatives from heavily Hispanic districts so far left on pretty much everything?
I guess my main point is that it doesn’t really matter how socially conservative blacks or latinos are because other issues on which they are liberal (like economic/redistribution ones you mention) clearly matter more to them. So the idea that Republicans can make significant inroads with minorities based on social issues is a long shot at best.
And doesn’t it seem odd that the postmortem on the GOP’s 2012 loss contains contradictory messages? On the one hand we’re told that Republicans should be able to win over lots of Hispanics because of family values and social issues, if only they’d go liberal on immigration. Yet we are also told that family values rhetoric and social issues are what drives single women, voters in the North East, and upscale suburban whites from the GOP.
It’s enough to make me suspect that perhaps these liberal pundits offering this free advice to the GOP don’t exactly have the GOP’s best interests at heart.

This is an excellent analysis. You can sit on two ponies at the same time. The GOP has to pick one and sit tight. We don’t need two Democratic pro-government parties.
