Police chief: If you don’t curb porn, number of sex crimes will rise

March 13, 2013, (LifeSiteNews.com) – One of the highest-ranking police officials in Scotland has warned that if pornography's effects on the culture are not checked, it will “result in a higher number of victims of serious sexual crime.”

Assistant Chief Constable Malcolm Graham said porn is warping the perceptions of a generation of British children, making young boys more likely to assault girls.

“There is academic evidence coming out to suggest [pornography] is having an impact on how young men in particular perceive relationships and women,” he said.

“We need to change the attitudes, behavior, and perceptions of men to make a difference to that,” he stated. “We also need it make it clear to young people that what they are seeing on a computer screen isn’t real life.”

I would agree strongly with Police Official from Scotland.

There was a recent story from the UK of a 15 year old boy and 14 year old boy assaulting a 15 year old girl.

The 15 year old had been exposed extensively to pornography where the victim was tortured.

[I will have to look up the story.]

Pornography is Free Speech. But can the same be said of "Progamming" people to do things that are clearly wrong

An example was that the assassin of RFK was thought to be the victim of Mind Programming as well as the person who shot President Ronald Reagan.

I don't think it can be proved in either case, but if it were true, would such Mind Programming be considered Free Speech (especially if the person did it freely as an experiment or something...)

Bottom line: Children need to be protected. If it is harmful influences they need to be protected from, then that is the same thing.

This is one reason there is an age limit for buying cigarettes and alcoholic beverages...

Note that the LifeSiteNews.com article had the Human Trafficking keyword. I included it with this article for this reason.

The movies Taken comes to mind...

And there are hundreds of similar stories from times before pornography was readily available.

Should pornography be available to kids ? Obviously not. Should adult access be limited ? To stuff like kiddie porn and snuff films, yes. Otherwise no, if participants are voluntarily participating.

There is a similarity to pornography and sex addiction to alcoholism, nicotine, and drug addiction.

All of the above affect certain parts of the brain to give it pleasure...

Yet some think that trying to enforce existing law is the same as imposing a sweeping ban.

They can get the porn stars and gay sex clubs out of the classrooms for starters. It used to be taboo for adult to talk dirty to other people’s children, exposing them to behaviors they are not old enough to deal with. It’s called “comprehensive sex education.” Liberal perverts are big on it. They use children’s exposure to porn as an excuse to bring their love of porn into the classrooms.

I'm not addicted to any of them and I hate porn. But if my adult neighbor wants to watch two consenting adults go at it then it's a free country and needs to stay that way.

The problem we have now is it's all over TV and parents show no disregard to what crap they allow in their homes. Even sitcoms today talk about bodily fluids and sick sexual acts like they are discussing a dinner menu. We raised 5 with no TV stations. As teens though they found Skinimax and HBO at their friends homes so we couldn't protect them forever. Do what you can and the rest is up to God.

Correlation isn’t causation, but in this instance there isn’t even correlation.

While access to porn has exploded the violent crime rate, including rape, keeps going down.

I think pornography “fills the gap” for children raised without significant interaction with the opposite gender.

When dogs are raised apart from other dogs, they still want to mate, but see other dogs as “the enemy”. They have no socialization with other dogs, and so are socially crippled.

Children are not appreciably different from dogs in this way.

So what is desperately needed is for safe, chaperoned, extended interaction between boy and girl children. Typically they will self-segregate by gender, so this must be discouraged.

And importantly, they cannot be assigned to *do* anything that distracts them from this interaction. This is why children do not effectively socialize in school or church, because they have other things to do. They are able to ignore each other.

In any event, children raised this way do not know how to date, or marry, or live together, or do much of anything other than just sex. And there is no future in that.

Per capita rape has been going down stateside since it peaked in 1992. If per capita rape has been going up in the UK, I'd speculate as to whether there's a link to the rapid increase in the Muslim population. But that would be politically incorrect.

Did that stop a guy I knew in junior high from smoking, or me wanting my first drink at 16?
