I know paki is an acceptable term in the US, you will be in for a shock if you use it if you ever travel to the UK. Its as socially unacceptable here as using the n-word in the US.
I know you are simply trying to give a decent UK perspective as you have reliably contributed for many years. I imagine however the thread will continue to have people assume your comment was PC rather than simply highlighting the language variance.
It is the same when I tell people that Ozark region residents have a very strong reaction to “hillbilly”. Many think it is just Quaint and continue to be baffled by their reception.
I dated a U.K. soldier who thought the word cun* was acceptable. I had to tell him otherwise.
