I these are used for shoot/don’t shoot scenarios, I don’t have a problem with it.

They have pictures at the source article. The targets are depicting holding real weapons so they are intended to be shot, reducing the inhibitions of cops from shooting children, pregnant women and old people regardless of the unlikelihood of the scenario.

That’s not the case.

Statement from the company:

“I found while speaking with officers and trainers in the law enforcement community that there is a hesitation on the part of cops when deadly force is required on subjects with atypical age, frailty or condition (one officer explaining that he enlarged photos of his own kids to use as targets so that he would not be caught off guard with such a drastically new experience while on duty). This hesitation time may be only seconds but that is not acceptable when officers are losing their lives in these same situations.”

Anyway, “No More Hesitation”? That’s hardly ambiguous as to the purpose.

That’s exactly what they are for...forces officers to look at the hands...and SEE what is in them before making the decision to pull the trigger...

I saw a story from the next township over last night where a cop would have been justified in shooting but didn’t.

Some punk kicked in the door of a house and hit the old man living there in the face with the butt of a shotgun. A cop arrived (by chance) to find the kid in the doorway with the old man on the ground. Apparently the kid hesitated when he was told to drop the gun but changed his mind when the cop told him that he had one chance.
