A man is under arrest in connection with the killing of two men at an Erath County, Texas, gun range, police said.

One of the victims is former Navy SEAL and "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle.

"We have lost more than we can replace. Chris was a patriot, a great father, and a true supporter of this country and its ideals. This is a tragedy for all of us. I send my deepest prayers and thoughts to his wife and two children," "American Sniper" co-author Scott McEwen said in a statement to ABC News.

ABC affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas reported that Kyle and a neighbor of his were shot while helping a soldier who is recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome at a gun range in Glen Rose.

Kyle of Midlothian and a neighbor had taken Routh on an outing to help him deal with post-traumatic stress disorder

Another psychotropic killing?

Chris was a close friend of my husband and I. I can’t bring myself to read the articles nor watch the news. It was an absolutely unreal phone call when we got the news. If ANY Freeper finds out any information about this dirtbag, please send it my way!

Back in February, Kyle filed a petition to have the case moved to U.S. District Court in St. Paul. Ventura considered dropping the case but after being contacted by several prominent former US Navy Seals, was “ordered” to go ahead with the lawsuit after Kyle failed to agree to a settlement that would have seen him admit to lying and pay attorney fees.

One of those ex-SEALs is Ventura’s former instructor, the widely respected Terry “Mother” Moy, owner of the bar where the incident is alleged to have occurred.

After investigating the incident, Moy and his fellow SEALs confirmed that the event never took place and that Kyle had invented it to generate publicity for his book.

I have no info to share outside of what I've read on the internet from various sources. He is now in the Erath County Jail under some $3 million dollar bond or its being reported.

I'm sorry for your loss and after the grief I hope that you all find peace in the good things that Chris was doing. May God Bless....

Thank you for the kind words. He was such a wonderful guy. Down to earth, loved his family and our country. I keep trying to keep myself from dwelling on vengance. He did not deserve to die by the hand of a coward.

Yes, the lunatic excuse is wearing thin. The Muslims perfected the technique of weaponizing lunatics 1,000 years ago. That lesson was taken to heart by politicians. There have been too many instances of lunatics committing acts that benefit someone in power. With this assassination the regime not only eliminates a possible future threat but adds another justification for disarming the citizenry.

You may have a valid point there.

We are shocked beyond belief.

He saved so many of our own troops lives and the lives of our allies with his abilities.

Then he came home to help organize a non-profit FITCO Cares, which provides at-home fitness equipment for emotionally and physically wounded veterans.

We’ve seen him on shows to raise money for wounded troops. He never stopped. He loved our troops. This is a real heart breaker. He was truly humble.

Only wanting to help those who hadn’t “come home” all the way yet.

Shooting is a good way to help people get past tank fire and gun fire going off in your head. I remember people “hitting the deck”, from fourth of July fire works going off.

God Bless Chris and I believe a fellow Veteran who was assisting him in this endeavor. Bless both their families who served as well.

He will be sorely missed.

I haven’t posted in years, due being a disabled Vet.

Chris brought me back to the Forum, as well as the other half of my family who served. We both loved our brother.

Salute Chris, you are an example for all, including our nations youth to look up too.

We always thank the troops and their families. I wish we had been given the chance to thank you in person. We will do it in our prayers tonight.

You protected many a families son, husband, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. He’s our nations hero.

We will truly miss having this man bless this planet. We were a better place for his presence.

Back shot by a Marine (allegedly with PTSD) he was trying to help.

He must have believed he was among brothers, nothing to fear. Gun grabbers who try to exploit this are beneath contempt.

“Eddie Ray Routh of Lancaster was arraigned early Sunday in Saturday’s deaths of Kyle, 38, and Chad Littlefield, 35, at a shooting range at Rough Creek Lodge, about 50 miles southwest of Ft. Worth. Routh was being held on one charge of capital murder and two charges of murder.

Capt. Jason Upshaw with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office said Routh used a semiautomatic handgun, which authorities later found at his home. Upshaw said ballistics tests weren’t complete Sunday, but authorities said they think the gun was used in the shootings. Upshaw declined to give any more details about the gun.

Crazy, senseless, infuriating. I am so angry that he died that way. He is a hero.
