Does it take away from clarity or focus, or amount of light gathering? Would it interfere with mil dot reticle dots? I like the fact that there is no glare possible.

I’ve never noticed any problems seeing the reticle. From what I can tell, the design positions one of the mesh’s openings at the dead center point, so optically you just look right through it. YMMV, based on the exit pupil size of any given scope.
