A spokesman for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) pushed back Tuesday afternoon against the suggestion that by coming out against the “fiscal cliff” deal passed by the Senate, the congressman was undercutting House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

I feel like living in the twilight zone.... two contradicting statements, one right after another.

Maybe the “Good Ole Boys Club” is in both houses of Congress and not just the Senate.

Either way the American Public is thrown under the bus time and time again.

I guess this means Cantor won’t be getting many votes for speaker.
His knee-jerk statements do not show strength.

You should have read the article before making your misleading addition to the headline LOL!

Though history may yet show you’re right nothing in this article supports you.

Replacing the Weeper with Cantor achieves nothing.

There needs to be a clean sweep of Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy and every committee chairman that will not advance conservatism.

I doubt Cantor is much better than Boehner. We need to clean out both the House and the Senate, if our Country makes it to the next election!

“There needs to be a clean sweep of Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy and every committee chairman that will not advance conservatism.”

The way the leadership operates is essentially taxation without representation. Them is fighting words. Remove all the retards and start over so that they know where there bread is buttered. Repeal the 17th.

First and foremost, people (self claiming conservatives) should stop treating the bill passage as if it were a “tax increase” bill that the GOP is capitulating on. It is not. Very simply, Obama won the election, held Bush tax cuts for everyone hostage, and sat back and relaxed. So, what is the GOP supposed to do? Let everyone’s taxes raise. Or, cut a sh*tt* deal to protect as many tax payers as possible. They chose the latter.

Debt ceiling is not increased. That is the next fight. If the GOP does not get anything in that deal, then we should fire them and all. That is the fight to watch and put pressure on because there is no hostage in Obama’s hands.

of course there is. Obama and the media will always come up with some new “hostage”. There was no tax deadline on the debt ceiling in 2011 and the GOP folded. The dems will go on and on about the threat of default and a recession and benefits being stopped and Boehner and McConnell will go running to Obama and Biden just as they did this time.

Do you honestly believe the GOP will get anything out of the nest debt ceiling deal? If so give me even one piece of evidence to support it?

Patience my friend. Obama is President. His “tax the rich” is off the table now. What does he have left? Tax the rich more? Do you think the public will put up with that sh8t for long? Debt ceiling fight is one chance. Next year budget is another chance. Build up to 2014 is the key here. Economy not growing, Obamacare hurting, Tax the rich wearing thin....all these will add up to more political power for our side. That is what will help craft outcomes to our favor.

from another thread:
If Boehner / McConnell had any balls..
I think, that issue(s) had been settled long ago
..our.. the Congressional GOP/Establishment has none.
The (old) GOP needs desperately to Re-brand itself.
..Like; "Throw all the Establishment Bums OUT!"

(along with their RINO (high $$$$ / useless consultants, too.)

banish them to the ranks..no leadership positions.

Nevermind losing on the tax increase-or however you want it phrased.

It’s also a loss on spending cuts, without ever going to battle.

Come the debt fight what legs will we stand on after running away from spending cuts and opposition to taxes?

Not a surprise. He does this every time. First he says, “I’m more conservative than Boner.” Then he folds.
