Petraeus Personally Investigated Benghazi Attack
ABC News ^ | Nov. 13, 2012 | JONATHAN KARL

In late October, Petraeus traveled to Libya to conduct his own review of the Benghazi attack that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

While in Tripoli, he personally questioned the CIA station chief and other CIA personnel who were in Benghazi on Sept. 11 when the attack occurred.

The Libya stop was part of a six nation trip to the region. Petraeus intended the review as a way to prepare for his upcoming testimony before Congress on Benghazi.

"He was looking forward to testifying," a Petraeus friend told ABC News. "He wanted to be fully prepared."

Petraeus' friend described his investigation as Petraeus' "personal review" of both the Sept. 11 attack and the events leading up to it. ...

The trip was so recent that the CIA has told the Congressional Intelligence committees that the trip report has not yet been completed.

Petraeus' personal involvement in this investigation is one reason some in Congress are likely to insist he testify on Benghazi.

But now Petraeus is telling friends he does not think he should testify. ...

What a crock of BS. He knew what covert programs were being run out of there, and i bet it’s 99% he watched it on a live predator video feed, complete with audio of his former SEAL CIA agents yelling for support.
He probably knows exactly what was said when support was denied. Don’t forget his Afghanistan order on supporting arms. He’s no stranger to denying grunts in a firefight fire support, so this was nothing new to him.

SO what did he need to go “investigate”?
He went to find out if anything would come out to conflict with the official coverup. POS.

“Petraeus intended the review as a way to prepare for his upcoming testimony before Congress on Benghazi.”

Also known as collusion and “getting the story straight”. He doesn’t need that trip to be able to testify about EXACTLY what he knew and SAW on Sept 11th. More of his treachery.

... so naturally he had to be discredited.

But now Petraeus is telling friends he does not think he should testify.

What threats have been made? Does he feel "honor bound" to protect his mistress? Is that the leverage being used? or was she one of many?

As the good book says, “the truth shall set you free”. Petraeus is a coward who is still trying to game the system. It’s time for the academic general with the PhD in foreign relations to grow a spine and just TELL THE TRUTH.

NO shading the story, no protecting himself from criminal charges, no protecting Obama from his murderous and treasonous decision that day.
Out with it Petraeus. Be as much of a man as those SEALs who risked all.

So he questioned guys in Tripoli, 500 miles from Benghazi, that should really provide perfect information.

You know, this all could be Petraeus’ fault and he is using the adultery excuse to try to hide the blame.

He did not need to fly to Libya to question the (reported) 24 or so—out of 30—CIA personnel who were rescued from the Mission in Bengazi as they would know what transpired both there as well as the CIA safe house.

TELL THE TRUTH.

Rice lied often with conviction and may be rewarded with the post of Secretary of State. Other nations will believe what she says. /sarc

Nope. The sos message went to numerous recipients, including the white house, the state dept, the doD and CIA, and NSA and HS and so on. A rescue operation would be atomatic response but for ONE thing, and that is if the President did not give final authority.

You’re an idiot. Wait to go! Drawing conclusions without bothering with those pesky facts.

Congrats. You should be PROUD that you overlooked the spycraft involved. HINT: Ambassador Stevens was Chief of Mission. CIA was Chief of Station in Benghazi.

You don’t even know which is subordinate to the other, and you’ve made up your mind congruently with that idiocy.

...but the guys in the field know the story. The textbook says that you only run the Chief of Mission on an op when the Chief of Station can’t be trusted.

Heck, you don’t even know what that entails.

Sad.

Not that there’s much intelligent thought on this thread, but anyone who actually looks into Jill and Natalie will discover that they are both Lebanese.

Lebanon is allied with Assad in Syria.

Both twins received substantial sums of money from politicians and pacs.

...and the theories being bantered about haven’t touched on what or why...though most wouldn’t know if you told them.

Hezbollah makes up the majority of the Lebanese leadership these days, as I understand it.

I don’t remember it all that clearly, but it seems there was a majority Christian leadership years ago. I may be wrong with regard to that, but the leadership wasn’t as polarized as it is now.

I seems like the government could find out if Jill was contacting people in the Middle-East with regularity.
