Big time.
As the poster down thread said, it was a home run over the fence.
It was a Babe Ruth home run.
The effect it had on me was it made me go from not liking him to liking him a great deal.

Excellent, great input.

I wanted more specifics on an economic plan. He laid out a 5 point plan that mentioned two of the structural issues in the economy, but gave little specifics.
- "First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables,"
- "Make Trade work for America" "Forge new Trade Agreements"
The other 3 points I didn't see as having a big impact on the economy. #4 is the logical outcome if you fix the structural issues in the economy.
- "When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance,"
- "Cut the deficit" "Put America back on track to a balanced budget"
- "That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most. And it means that we must rein in the skyrocketing cost of healthcare by repealing and replacing Obamacare."

By the way, was it my imagination or did Rubio get tongue twisted and say we choose big government over freedom. Maybe there was a negative in his statement that I missed but it didn’t seem to flow with the rest of the speech.

Romney was not my first choice. He was not even my last choice. But, to paraphrase Rumsfeld, he’s what we got. And to be honest, Romney’s speech last night made me feel really good. Really good like I haven’t felt in a very long time.

It certainly was better than Bush I and II’s , Dole’s and McLame’s.

I am reserving all my comments about Romney for November 7.
It’s going to be hard enough to vote for him November 6, I don’t plan to make it any harder by obsessing over, well, you know, EVERYTHING.

Romney did VERY good, much better than I had expected.
I am beginning to get the ‘feeling’ (I generally don’t like that word) that Romney is going to win the election and rid us of Empty Chair Obama.
