Agreed but Ryan will move Wisconsin to a solid R State. The more I think about the pick the better I like it.

Could it be that Romney finally sees his lack of support from the conservative side and wants to correct that with the Ryan pick?

I just hope that Ryan doesn’t have one, single, tiny thing hidden. Obummer has a track record of getting “sealed” documents unsealed and other people’s secrets exposed. (Though not his own, of course.) In fact, I’m amazed that Romney’s tax returns haven’t been released by the IRS, illegal though that may be ...

Look, I donate to FR. My wife and I have donated our maximum to Romney. We should be about free debate among those who care about this country on FR. We can disagree but we all know this country is screwed if Obama is elected again.

But...but will Ryan be able to match the giant intellect of Joe Biden when they debate?

A great contrast can be drawn between a Romney Ryan team vs. Obama Biden.

It will not be Obama-Biden.

They have locked joe in the basement for the past two weeks. My bet is that we will see very little of him prior to the convention and then he will bow out for un-specified personal or health reasons.

I don't know who will replace him but my bet is a woman (a Spanish woman if they can find one).

This is one of a half dozen really good picks he could have made.

It signals that conservatives not only have a seat at the table, but that Romney is serious about actually tackling the fiscal issues facing this country and taking out Obamacare.

All the naysayers here that claim he is a socialist, the same as Bambi, that he would never pick a running mate with conservative creds or a running mate with more charisma than himself should be ashamed of themselves.

But they won't be. They'll just keep on being Axelrod conservatives, whining til the end, making themselves irrelevant.

I am not disappointed with the choice of Paul Ryan. It says Romney is serious about getting the budget under control. It gives Romney a one-two punch of growing the economy, his plan, and controlling the growth of government, Ryan.

But, I would have liked someone who understands that the greatest threat to the republic is Bolshies in the bureaucracy. Allen West or John Bolton would be more effective there.

Ryan was the youngest of four children born to Paul Ryan Sr., who worked as an attorney, and Betty, a stay-at-home mom.

Well, that cuts it. His dad an ambulance chaser, and a mother who couldn't get a job. That's worse than had they been illegal. I can't vote for this ticket, when some dodo with that background is involved. /s

Ryan will definitely need to bring his “A” game! /s/

It might be the first time a network stops a debate at the 2nd question outa mercy.

There have been exceptions, but that depends on whether the President in question is willing to allow it. Bush did, because Cheney served as his more aggressive alter-ego.

As I said, much to me will depend on whether Ryan is even allowed to express himself during the campaign (remember how they kept Palin shunted off to the sidelines whenever they could) and whether it looks like Romney is picking up on any of Ryan’s ideas, since Romney appears to have none of his own.

Cannot; rather 'will not' go - at least now - to his voting record. Republican is my vote.

No matter how/what/why Ryan votes; I will not ever give support - by action or inaction - to the communist/Muslim, America-destroying, ideological fraud of a human being, who proudly presides and orchestrates America's destruction.

And so with that; is Romney/Ryan.

I, for one, didn’t, make a “mistake.” Romney wasn’t my choice, and I voted for someone else (Newt) even though the race was already over by the time my state had it’s primary. However, Romney must prevail, or we lose the Republic. It’s that simple.

“WE” obviously are not always of one mind, but when assessed against the Job #1 criteria of ending the Obamanation, then Ryan is a 100% net positive and a great choice as he will bring a swing state into the Romney column.

And, when judged on his own, Ryan is a solid conservative, exceptionally bright and articulate, and has plenty of runway to continue as POTUS in 8 years.

Plus, from everything I’ve learned about him, his background is “clean as a hound’s tooth”. What’s not to like?

Now: just think about Biden vs. Ryan in VP debate...the Dems had better have 911 on speed dial.

(Or even Hillary vs. Ryan)

You are exactly right. He - and the others here like him - are completely irrelevant now. The Romney/Ryan ticket will win & people like him will have no impact at all.
