The intense level of vitriol spewed by some Evangelicals toward Mormonism makes it plausible that some already unbalanced person Westboro Baptist type might feel justified resorting to violence to ‘protect’ America from having a Mormon president. I can’t say how others would react, but I would find the suggestion so insane I would laugh at how stupid the poster was making themselves look. Are Mormon Bishops or other leaders out whipping up animosity against any others? No. Is there some group within my church that is similar to the Westboro Baptists? Not that I know of. Plus we’ve been just fine with all kinds of non-Mormon presidents, helping them get elected, supporting them in office, working with them.
