Either way, a lot of us upstate that are within 40 miles of two nuke plants in the heart of fracking territory get screwed because they send all of the power produced downstate and we get diddly. All the risk and none of the benefit. Relatively warm winter and a $500 utility bill in January, for example. There’d probably be more support if we knew it wasn't just going to be stolen.

Thered probably be more support if we knew it wasn't just going to be stolen. Fracing is very popular in south Texas where the Eagleford Shale is creating lots of millionaire mineral owners. Lots of small towns that have been sleepy for decades all of a sudden have lots of money coming through them.
