Yes, I do think it normal for a teenager to have a socialist viewpoint. Churchill’s quote comes to mind. Teenagers have a naive view of the world. Save the whales. Save the cute furry animals. Why can’t we help all the poor people? Love and peace for everyone! Teens want to rebel but have no idea how to make the world work. Most conservatives (at least most of the prominent ones I’ve seen online) started out fairly liberal in their youth. But then they, ... grew up. They matured and realized they don’t have all the answers nor even know the questions. They learned to take responsibility for their own lives and others’ lives.

Leftists never learned those lessons. They have been coddled and allow to slide through life without putting the hard work to achieve real goals that matter. This is why a lot of Hollyweird actors are leftist: they made millions on the looks, or play acting, or playing as themselves. This is why Obama and his administration are leftist: they slide by on skin color or gender or ethnicity or lying. They never had to face consequences of bad decisions or prove competency.

That's a damning indictment of the way "we" raise teenagers, IMO. Seems to me a teenager is more than smart enough to realize that robbing Peter to pay Paul to do nothing is a bad idea ... the Churchill quote has always seemed bizarre to me. I and my high-school friends were always at odds with our leftist history and "social studies" teachers.
