A perfect storm of economic worries could lead to high gas prices, inflation and unemployment. Consumers should prepare now by investing in food storage and other emergency supplies before prices skyrocket.
While celebrating the first anniversary of its website launch, Acorn Supplies, a provider of emergency food storage, has a warning for consumers: get ready for rapidly rising food prices.
Several dangerous factors are combining to create a troubling economic climate:
Tensions rising in the Middle East between Israel and Iran, according to the Reuters article Israels Barak: election would not alter Iran plans. As many as half of the oil refineries on the East Coast of the United States may shut down in 2012, according to the Financial Times article Energy: Refined out of existence. The U.S. debt-to-GDP ratio rising above 100 percent for the first time since World War II, according to usgovernmentspending.com. Several members of the European Union falling back into recession and political turmoil, according to the CNN article Spain falls into recession.

LOL when I first read your headline I thought it *WAS* our Amish ACORN friends.
I have several food storage kits. The largest one is called a “garden”; from there they range in size from “cow” to “chicken”.
Right on. If Democrat control any of the 3 parts of the legislative branch of Government, there will be no reversing their policies, or implementing any policies to improve the private sector.

We prefer “BreadofLife” brand for selection and quality.
If I sold emergency supplies I’d be telling folks they better stock up now.
Terrible name for a company.
Need money to buy supplies though.
Money may indeed be tight, my FRiend, but this is an insurance policy you won’t be able to purchase AFTER the water starts coming over the gunwales.
If not the fancy freeze-dried stuff, then flour, rice, beans, canned goods ... get ‘em while they’re still available and their price hasn’t (yet) hit the stratosphere.
Seriously. This will be the last “normal” summer of our lives.
I agree... It’s getting to the point where we can’t ignore this and pretend everything is alright anymore. I built a stockpile of food (enough to keep my wife, two kids, and myself well fed for one year) It wasn’t easy, but this article helped:

Any wise person would start storing food NOW. You can do it for not much money; it’s really not hard. In times like these, you can’t afford NOT to!
I am taking it quite seriously, if Obama wants to seriously control the people he will control the food supply.
He has already crippled the nation by allowing the gas prices to climb higher.
