” - - - STAND FOR SOMETHING.”
IMHO that is what we do NOT do on FR. What we do is what the Liberal Agenda Media, (LAM), does: we try to choose what politician best represents our views.
The LAM has chosen Obama and says that we should choose Romney.
The Primary voters that have taken the trouble to vote, ( 20 to 30 % of the Republican voter pool, by State), have yet to give a landslide vote for anybody.
What we are doing is doing EXACTLY what the LAM and the Democrat Party want us to do: 1.) ignore the problems in The US Federal Government, 2.) have heated discussions about which looser candidate is the most representative of our own personal views.
NOBODY IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE MAIN PROBLEM!
Thus, this summer we will see Obama and Obamalite shout out the favorite smocksreens of the LAM. The first is their main favorite smokescreen of “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.”
The second smokescreen is “Stimulate the Economy.”
Since small businesses create most of the jobs in America, smokescreen # 1 is invalid by inspection. Governments do not create jobs, they destroy them.
As for smokescreen # 2, ask “Enema” Ben Bernanke how his Quantative Easings, shovel-ready projects, Increased Bank Regulations, and bailing out Fannie and Freddie has worked out.
The US Federal Government is the SOURCE of the problem, not the solution.
And before anybody gets all emotional about Hero Rep. Paul Ryan’s Budget, he estimates that it will be in balance in 30 years, whoop-dee-do.
If we at FR spend our energies looking for POLITICIANS to help solve the main problem, then we have learned NOTHING about the complete inability of politicians to solve problems.
Back to your borrowed quote: Let us not stand for a given politician, instead, let us at FR stand for principles that will solve the main problem.
We then will have a unified voter block that will require politicians to come to us, rather than we go to them.

Late last night I read most of the replies on this and similar threads, and then posted Comment # 2254 above.
For those who want to solve the main problem, post # 2254 is for you.
My impression last night was that we at FR have lost focus on identifying the main problem - - -
EXACTLY.
I would suggest that the GOP Platform is where there is much conservative agreement already. I think one problem is the GOP (especially the RINOs) say one thing (pledge to support the platform) YET do another (vote and act contrary to the platform).
Thank you for including me Grae.
For all the mighty names. The “anonymous” screen names.
“bigheadfred” is an appellation GRANTED to me by people who knew the difference between standing around and talking about it, to people who just pulled that trigger.
