Justice Scalia just turned 78, Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year, Justice Breyer will be 76 in August, and Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago.
We wish them all well, of course, but the brute fact is that whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come. If you dont think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or 0, I think youre smokin something funky. columnist Andrew McCarthy
Bump.
So what you are saying is that leaving your ballot blank, voting for someone who will at most get .5% of the vote, or writing in someone who isn’t running will solidify abortion for decades to come. So if standing by your principles leads to more abortion, should one reassess their strategy. Or logic just doesn’t get through to some people.
My gosh, I knew there were some old dudes on the bench but that’s kind of a surprise. They are older than I am and I’m not sure I trust my own judgment.
That makes this election even more important. We simply can’t trust the Supreme Court to Obama.
We just can’t.
I do not for a second believe Romney will do any better than Obama. And I have read many articles and threads debating over the issue of Scotus.
The office of the United States President covers a very broad range nationally and Internationally, and as well and equal to Scotus decisions. These also I've considered.
I remain opposed to Romney and Obama.... I will not consent to their platforms by voting for them. Neither have the best interests of our country and both pay lip-service only. It's a show predetermined and I will not sign onto it any further.
