Samuel Wurzelbacher, the conservative activist popularly known as Joe the Plumber, is circulating a letter praising President Barack Obamas life story and crediting Christianity with his miraculous ascent to the presidency.
Wurzelbacher is the Republican congressional candidate challenging longtime Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur. He gained national fame during the 2008 election after he challenged Obama on tax policy during a campaign stop.
The letter, provided to The Daily Caller, strikes a respectful tone, at one point saying that Obama came to Christ and he is my brother. Fringe Obama opponents often claim that the president is secretly a Muslim.
Its not well, Christian to question Obamas religious faith, wrote Wurzelbacher.
One of the reasons I really dig Christianity is that its so incredibly powerful and amazing, he wrote. The lives of millions of people have been given meaning by their faith in Christ. And what better confirmation of that strength do we have than the life story of President Obama?
Wurzelbacher then provided a brief summary of the presidents biography, implying that Obamas Christian faith played a key role in his lifes successes.
Imagine being the child of a mixed-race marriage especially in the turbulent 60s and free-wheeling 70s, he wrote. And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist you know it could not have been easy and they were Communists for crying out loud!
At age six, young Barry was shipped off to Indonesia and exposed to Islam for several years. His parents divorced, he returned to the U.S. and Barack was placed with his grandparents. By the time he got to college, he was experimenting with cocaine, marijuana and even thought about using heroin.

I’ve never thought Christianity would make people stupid but...I’m having my doubts with this pecker head as well as the Progressive Churches and their Lefty Bull! I guess that’s why I have stayed away from the mainstream church.
I didn’t read the whole article, but I will make sure I do. Thanks for clueing me in.
Joe the plumber — just in case you needed evidence that idiocy is not the sole province of the left.
I share your views, but if we abandon the churches to Lefties, that won’t be self-serving in the long run.
We need to have sound people within our churches so they won’t be mislead on issues of the day.
BTW: I’m guilty of this myself so this isn’t something I’ve been perfect about.
It’s a tough, though not impossible, seat to win...Democrat certainly favored.
You’re actually reading the full transcript.
That’s not allowed anymore on FR, you have to read 2 sentences and shoot from the hip.
Marcy Kaptur? Favored? It is to laugh.
:^D
What, you think it should be safe Democrat?
I don’t think it should be, but it is. As safe as San Fran Nan. The distillation of Kookcinich and Kaptur. Joe, who just self immolated, never had a chance.
I’ve always suspected that Joe the Plumber was an Obama plant intended to be some sort of ‘Manchurian Candidate’, if you will, for the Tea Party. I bet Karl Rove coached him on how to talk like a conservative and babble crap like this.
To hell with the O-Mutt!!
Who got to Joe the Plumber?
Great plunger graphic. Too bad McLame tried so hard to lose. Joe took a pounding for looking The One in the eye and stating pure, unadulterated fact.
