I thought about this possibility and hope it is the case. I worry about Zimmerman’s safely in the general prison population.

The Florida authorities blinked at the Federal pressure. Obama needs the overwhelming support of the black community to carry the swing states of NC, VA, OH, and FL. If the Florida authorities get Zimmerman convicted, sending him to prison and certain death, a la Jeffrey Dahmer, the blacks will see Obama as their messiah. There is some risk with alienating Hispanics, but Zimmerman, although he looks Hispanic, had a father of German or Jewish origin, and thus is not regarded as “pure” enough for the standards of La Raza. The race hustlers lost on the Tawanna Brawley and Crystal Magnum cases, but they smell blood this time.
