The Left Misreads Popularity Of Limbaugh, Tea Party

Conservatism: The White House sicced its meanest attack dogs, Media Matters and MSNBC, on Rush Limbaugh. But they couldn't knock him off the air. Their advertising boycott has failed.

Even the Washington Post admits the conservative talk-show giant has survived a monthlong crusade to cow sponsors and stations into dropping Limbaugh over intemperate remarks he made about a coed fan of ObamaCare.

"Stations are standing by him," the Post reported, and "advertisers are trickling back to his program."

Turns out the ad losses were far fewer than liberal Media Matters claimed in a running tally on its website.

In fact, virtually all of Limbaugh's long-term sponsors stuck with the show, in spite of relentless brow-beating by both Media Matters and MSNBC, which also works closely with the White House.

Of the 180 stations that carry Limbaugh, only two dropped him. And both are based in deep blue states, Massachusetts and Hawaii. Even the Beltway's top AM station wasn't cowed by the left-wing assault.

I really think Rush doesn’t quite grasp his popularity within the military. His show is on in every office, shop, and barracks. Likewise everyone underestimates the popularity of the TEA party within the military. About half of the folks at our last little get together were active military.

Thursday, I heard a snip by Rush that his listener base has risen between 10-60%, depending on the market.

How about that.

I canceled HBO; and contrary to Sean Hannity, who speaks only for himself and does not speak for me as a conservative or veteran, I firmly believe we have every right to boycott such institutions. It is not a matter of people losing their jobs because I think we all would love for Maher to lose his pulpit. It is a matter of principal. It is time to turn the tables on MM, HBO, NBC, CBS and ABC and boycott them and their sponsors.

I pulled the plug on cable about a month ago....just don’t need that much TV in my life anymore...love not getting the bill every month.
